Friendly Silhouettes Dies - Stampin' Up! 2019

Today's card features the dies from the Friendly Silhouettes Dies.  It co-ordinates with the Friend Like You stamp set and is available at a 10% discount when purchasing them as a bundle.

I was using a beautiful card by Marita's Bastelzimmer as my inspiration.  I was attempting to simply it by using some retired Designer Series Paper (High Tide).  Although I did succeed in simplifying the card, I am not totally happy with it.  So I will think on this a bit more and see if I can made it appear less two dimensional and  plain.

I did add some Wink of Stella to the cat tails for a bit of shimmer.  Sentiment is from Colourful Seasons.

The inside is stamped with the cat tails from the Friends Like You stamp set.

This really is a beautiful die set that works well as a stand alone, but the stamp set does work beautifully with it.

Good Morning Magnolia - Stampin' Up! 2019

Good Morning Magnolia was the first set I purchased from the preorder items in the annual catalogue when it came out.  This is the second card I have made with it.  I was asked to make a white on white card and this is the result.  This is a 5.25 X 5.25 card.  I still had a few of the square envelopes we used to carry.  I miss those!

Also used for this card:
Subtle Embossing Folder
Rhinestones
Silver Metallic Thread
Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon
Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight Blends Markers

Daisy Delight - Garden Lane - Stampin' Up! 2019

#loveitchopit

Daisy Delight gets to sport one of the new embellishments called Perennial Essence Floral Centers.  They have great dimension but I wanted it to lie a little flatter, so I pulled off the bottom part of the embellishment and glued it on with Tombow.
The Subtle Embossing Folder adds texture to the band across the middle and the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper adds a lot of brightness with the white amongst all the green.
The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings which was stamped onto a punch out from the Classic Label Punch.  I tucked it to the edge and added another punched piece to the other side to continue the white line.

Here is a group picture of all the cards made with the Garden Lane paper.
And below is a pic and deets on the Perennial Essence Floral Centers

Daisy Delight - Garden Lane - Stampin' Up! 2019

#loveitchopit

Daisy Delight is paired with the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper; along with this birthday stamp from the Painted Glass stamp set.

I stamped Mint Macaron onto Mint Macaron card stock and punched  it out with the daisy punch.  The bling is from the Clear Faceted Gems.  The sentiment was stamped in Shaded Spruce onto a die cut from the Stitched Nested Labels.

Just a little two step stamping with the leaves on the inside of the card for some visual interest.

Have you been creating with designer series papers lately?  Many of us love to buy beautiful papers and then have the tendency to "hoard" it, afraid to cut into it.  Take the plunge and chop it!
Good luck!

Good Morning Magnolia - Garden Lane - Stampin' Up! 2019

One of the most popular sets in this year's catalogue is Good Morning Magnolia.  It has a couple of beautiful flower images that work beautiful with many of Stampin' Up!'s papers.
I decided to add the small flower from this set with the Garden Lane paper as a backdrop.  The paper is all in greens so I stuck with the colours in the paper.
I coloured the image with Mint Macaron Blends and punched it out with the 1 3/4" circle punch.  The white Flax Ribbon is used as an accent and to finish off the card the sentiment was stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.

I've given myself a goal of getting five cards made with this paper before I move on to another pack!

Stop by my on-line store for these and everything wonderful from Stampin' Up!

Love What You Do - Garden Lane - Stampin' Up! 2019

#loveitchopit

Garden Lane is one of the new Designer Series Papers in the just released 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue.
This card features the Love What You Do stamp set on page 143.
I made a card like this one with a different paper (that I cased from a talented demo)...you can see that card with credits here:

The "splotch" was stamped in Soft Sea Foam; the flower and sentiment in Garden Green.
There is an edgelit die in the Stitched Labels Framelits that I used to put the little edging on the left side of the focal piece.

I almost always do "something" to the inside.  Today I stamped part of the flower off the edge of the paper.

Here are the pattern from this lovely paper...can be found on page 165 and there is also the suite on pages 40-41.

I hope you are enjoying the new catalogue!

Garden Lane - Butterfly Gala - Stampin' Up!

#loveitchopit

Here is my first card with the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper that debuted in the new 2019-2020 annual catalogue.
As part of the #loveitchopit method of using designer series paper, I chopped up (only 1/2 of the pack for starters) this paper into 5.25" X 4" pieces.  From there I decide what I want to do with the paper.

To help me get started I pulled out a few of my samples from the past that used patterned paper as the focal point. Then,  I just changed things up to suit the paper and colours.

Here is a link to the 2015 card I made with this layout.

Today's card uses Shaded Spruce as the card base.  After cutting the patterned paper to size, I scored at 1/2" and folded so the reverse side showed on the front.
I used the Shaded Spruce Blends marker to colour three rhinestones and placed them in front of the sentiment from Butterfly Gala
There is also some Wink of Stella on all of the darkest leaves on the paper.  Can't seem to leave the Wink of Stella off of anything!

All in all a simple card.

Garden Lane Designer Series Paper
$15.95
See pages 165 and also 40-41 for suite options.

I will have several more from this paper in the coming days, before I cut into a different pack of yummy paper!

Waterfront- Stained Glass - Attic Boutique

#loveitchopit

I bought the Stained Glass Thinlits and co-ordinating stamp set Painted Glass at the beginning of the last catalogue and have only used the thinlits now.  So happy it has carried over.  I think it is striking on this delicate background paper from Attic Boutique (2012).

My sentiment is from Waterfront; another set that has carried over in the new catalogue that just launched.  The three little flowers were fussy cut (from the same paper and painted with Wink of Stella).  This was one of those "happy mistakes" as I hadn't glued the die cut down properly and there was a gap between the paper and the die cut.  So I covered the gap up with these three flowers.
