Butterfly Gala - Attic Boutique - Stampin' Up!

#loveitchopit

Another quick and easy card with the 2012 Attic Boutique DSP.  Once again the paper does all the work.  This time, Butterfly Gala makes an entrance; coloured with Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo Blends alcohol markers.  There is a little bit of shimmer on the wings from the Wink of Stella.
I can tell I will be using these butterflies a lot!  They were easy to colour and and easy to punch out.
The sentiment (I can't remember the stamp set this was from) - I found it in my stash of pieces I've made in the past but didn't end up using.
Three tiny pearls were added to finish off the card.

Petal Palette - Attic Boutique - Stampin' Up!

This sweet little bird is from the Petal Palette stamp set which is retiring as of June 4.  It looks perfect with this already retired paper from 2012 Attic Boutique.  Another #loveitchopit card aimed at using up paper that has been sitting around since....well, 2012!
The sentiment is also from the retired set Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon is a lovely accent to this soft and pretty card.

Love What You Do - Happy Birthday Gorgeous - Attic Boutique - Stampin' Up!

I am once again working with the #loveitchopit method of creating cards.  Today's card is using some Designer Series Paper from 2012 called Attic Boutique.   I had 6 full sheets (which is all now in 5.25 X 4 inch pieces) of this paper left and ended up using the one I liked the least!

Co-ordinating colours included Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede so I used the Love What You Do stamp set and stamped the image in Soft Suede.  Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight Blends were used to colour my image.  I also had some retired Stitched Poly Ribbon so I  cut the edge and pulled a few strands to make a bow for the flowers.   My sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous which is retiring in just a few days.

It was a slow start to getting this paper used up.  I was having a hard time figuring out how to use the paper designs. So I just decided to play and let it take however long it takes.  Now to clean up and try another!

Afternoon Picnic - Botanical Butterfly - Stampin' Up!

I am on a mission to try and use up some really old designer series paper.  It's a slow mission ;). Still working on the same pack of Afternoon Picnic I was using May 12.  You can see that post via the link below.

Circle Punches made this a quick card to make.
In addition to the Afternoon Picnic paper I used an old Paper Pumpkin stamp set called Seriously Amazing from Aug. 2014 for the sentiment.  I had to dig out an older Wisteria Wonder marker for any inking I did.
The butterfly is fussy cut from the Botanical Butterfly DSP.
Lastly, the splatters were from the current set Waterfront which will be carrying over into the new catalogue.

Dig out your old, but always beautiful Designer Series Paper and play along with the #loveitchopit method of delving into unused paper!

Bird Ballad DSP - Stampin' Up! 2019

A little bit of new and old today.  The sweet birds (fussy cut) are from the new Bird Ballad DSP that I purchased during the pre-order.  The new catalogue goes live on June 4.  The Enjoy Today sentiment is from Good Morning Magnolia stamp set that also debuts in June.

Retired Delicate Details Lace Tape was used for the centre of the card; background paper is also retired.

This was a quick and easy card using a simple layout to showcase the birds in the designer series paper.

Looking forward to playing with more of the awesome products coming our way!

#loveitchopit - Afternoon Picnic Cards- Stampin' Up!

So, have you heard of the hashtag #loveitchopit ?  I have noticed it a lot of late and finally looked into it.
Here's how it works:

Take a pack of paper and cut it up into 5.25 X 4 inch pieces!  That's it!  Do it to the whole pack.  Keep the strips left over.

Now make some cards!

I have A LOT of retired Designer Series Paper.  I didn't know where to start so I chose my pack from the front of the pile (it was in alphabetical order).

Afternoon Picnic (2013) was the name of my paper.  I had 9 full sheets with scraps.  That first pic shows it all cut up.  I then decided I wasn't just going to put it away, so I started making cards.  Just 5 for starters.

It was fun using current and retired product to make each card.

I was much more likely to punch into pieces when they were already in a workable size.  Here I punched out one of the elements and raised it with dimensionals.  I used Wink of Stella for some shimmer.  A piece from the Delightfully Detailed laser cut sheets was used through the middle.

More punching here.  I had already fussy cut some butterflies a couple of weeks ago from the Butterfly Gala DSP so it was a quick accent for this card.

More detailed laser cut sheets and some Very Vanilla Lace Trim.

I love the opportunity to use up retired products, especially ribbon.  I only have about 4 feet left of the Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon and will use it all up with this pack of paper.

This bird from Best Birds was already stamped and cut, sitting in the case, ready for a card.  The sentiment was stamped on one of the Stitched Labels framelits.

So give it a shot..

Tarnished Foil Technique- Stampin' Up!

This is a fun technique.  I don't think you can do it wrong!  Use any kind of foil with your favourite embossing folder and two colours of embossing powder.  It's as simple as:

1.  Streak Black Staz On over the copper foil piece
2.  Emboss with your fave folder.
3.  Add Versa Mark and Gold powder; heat.
4.  Add Versa Mark and Silver powder; heat.
4.  Run Black Staz On over raised edges.

So that's the Cole's Notes version ;)  There are many videos out there that go into further detail with great tips and tricks.

Pretty cool, I think!
