My Friend and Flirtatious Specialty Paper

My card features one of the fabric flowers from the 2012 Sale-a-bration Brochure.  The centre brad is from the Jelly Bean Brads found in the 2012 Occasions Mini page 25.  You can get this fabric FREE (page 10 of Sale-a-bration) with a $60 purchase.

The new Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and Adorning Accents Embossing Folder adds a sweet touch.  They can be found on page 7 of the 2012 Occasions Mini.  My centre is a retired brad with Dazzling Details spread on it.

The Flirtatious Specialty DSP is from the IB&C page 183 and co-ordinates with the fabric.  Sure makes things easy to pull together!  My fabric button is retired.  I posted these in the reverse order of when I made them.  I think I like the first one with the Jelly Bean brad the best.

The sentiment is from the stamp set My Friend; stamped with Whisper White craft ink.  I followed instructions by Jackie Topa from a demonstrator website.

So, there were a lot of products used for this one card!!

Frostwood Lodge - Box In A Bag

This project starts out with a 4 1/2" square piece of card stock to make a small box base.  Use your favourite DSP (Frostwood Lodge from Holiday Mini used here) for the "bag" portion.  I made a few and filled them with coffee beans, nuts and chocolate using the medium sized cello bags on page 181 of IB&C.

My flower was made using the Blossoms Petal Builder punch.  I saw a video on YouTube by Create with Dee showing how she ran it through the Big Shot after assembling.

Tall one is using 6 1/2" DSP; small one uses 5 1/2" DSP.  Woodgrain background stamp was used on the scalloped border and Round Tab Punch handles.

Greenhouse Gala Boho Blossoms CAS 134

A little bit of a contrast going on  here....winter in the first photo....the hopes of spring in the second.

I used last week's Fall To Layout 134 for my cards.  This is the card we did at our  CAS class.  I did the blue card for my class and used silver brads.  Here is the link to CAS blog...where you can see what others have done with this sketch.

The flowers are made with Vellum Card Stock and the Boho Blossoms three flower punch.  I've made these little flowers this way before, for this card....from way  back.

For my second CAS card, we used the new Paisley Petals DSP that will be out in the July catalogue.  My next post will show that card.

Ribbon Class Cont'd....Scrapbook Layout Sample/Tag

This heritage page was designed to showcase the Shabby Ribbon Flower.  The page was done by my daughter Stephanie.  This is an original photo postcard taken in 1910 in Cobalt, Ontario of my grandmother.  Title will go near the top, with some more details at the very bottom.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! except the large piece of lace border.  The tag and background are spritzed with Shimmer Paint (and rubbing alcohol), which does not show in this photo.

Just a close up of the flower.  Participants made a tag with the same paper (or they could choose the reverse which had music notes on it) and a black flower.

Ribbon Class Cont'd...Shabby Ribbon Flower

The second flower we did in our class was this Shabby Ribbon Flower.  Our Vintage Brads are perfect for this flower.  I made one from every color of 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon that I had.  This is my demo assortment.   I found a video tutorial for this flower back in April on Jenni Ingerich's blog Stamp With Jenni.  They are perfect for any vintagey style of card or scrapbook page.

My display card below was made using the Early Espresso Striped Grosgrain and the Vintage Vogue stamp set.  The corduroy buttons are retired, but were on the Clearance Rack at time of this post.  I used the wax paper embossing folder technique to make my patterned paper.

We made a black striped ribbon flower and tag as a make and take.  These little flowers only take 6" of ribbon to make.   I'll have those to show on my next post.

Simple Ribbon Flower cont'd....Scrapbook Layout and Samples

This layout shows a page using one of the flowers that appeared in my previous post.

Designer Series Paper is retired Holiday Treasures

Her title is from the stamp set Welcome Christmas.  There is a little border of rub ons just below the photo.

In Andie's hair is a sweet flower I made from the 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon glued to a barrette with a real red corduroy brad for the centre.  I used 15" of ribbon for this flower; 7 1/2" for the 5/8" satin and grosgrain flowers.

This is the one used in Andie's hair!!  Just hot glue a barrette and you're done!

This brown one shows layering with another flower done in the crochet trim, embellished with a vintage brad.  I've also seen them embellished with the Designer Big Buttons - really cute.  I used corduroy buttons (some of which can still be found on the Clearance Rack) so that I could change them out once I decide what I would like to use them for.

Scrap Happenin' 2011 - Ribbon Flowers

Phew!  Our 2nd Scrap Happenin' here in Red Lake is over; I taught some stuff and learned some stuff!

My class was on ribbon flowers with a couple of ribbon techniques.

I'll post all my sample projects over the the next few weeks.

I had made flowers in every color of satin and grosgrain 5/8" that I had.  I had this frame already waiting to be used for something, so it became my display frame.  Flowers are attached to the top of the glass with mini glue dots.   Each flower has some bling (either ice circles, glimmer brads, rhinestones, or pearls.

Each participant made one flower of their ribbon color choice.

Bold and Beautiful Build a Blossom

Bold and Beautiful!  I really had fun making this flower and plan to make them in all different colors.  Today is the launch of the new Occasions Mini Catalogue from Stampin Up!.  This card features the stamp set Build a Blossom that co-ordinates with the Blossom Petals Punch.

Everything on here is current, except the polka dot grosgrain ribbon.  Also new is the Fabric Designer Brads in the centre of the flower.  Love them!!  I embossed the petal leaves with Iridescent Ice for a little sparkle.  White piece is embossed with polka dots.

Satin Ribbon Flower

My first attempt at satin ribbon flowers!  So fun and quite quick to make.  This card actually came together quickly, thanks to the Big Shot and a couple of punches. 

Supplies:

Card stock:  Sahara Sand, Pacific Point, Blueberry Crisp DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot, Top Note Die, Little Leaves Die, Word Window Punch, Modern Label XL, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon

Ink:  Sahara Sand (for sponging the edges) and Pacific Point for sentiment and edges of leaves.

Rose Note Card Drawer Box

This is layout #100  from the blog Clean and Simple from July 23 that I used for the note cards. 

Because they are note cards, I didn't put a sentiment and felt that the paper was pretty enough without one.

The box is made from the cardobard found in the 12 X 12 packs of DSP.  I tried making it from cardstock, but it was just too flimsy.   The rose was made from DSP also.

Cards all in a row! 

Close up of rose.  It was sprayed with Smooch and has a bit of a glimmer.  Leaves were made with Little Leaves die.  Sentiment is from a retired set called Roses in Winter.

Just the box with its cute little handle.  I think it will make a great little gift for someone.

Sweet Pea

One of my beautiful grandchildren.  This is Andie.  Her mom took the picture.  This is another easel card made as an example for the convention.  The flowers are made from vellum and a punch.  Pretty simple.  Isn't she adorable?

Happy Birthday Janet!

Hope you have a wonderful birthday Janet!!

This is the card I made for a  friend.  It's her birthday today and I'm hoping this card got to her before she takes a peek at the blog!  I saw this image on a blog a long time ago and had finally decided to go ahead a buy it.   It's from a stamp design company called Skipping Stones and the stamp set is Hawaiian Birthday.  I was wishing I also had the Stampin' Up! set with the coconut for this one.  The flower is made from a tutorial from Julie Buhler's blog.  I love making these.

  The best part of this card is the inside.
