So Cool - April 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - Stampin' Up!

I had fun with this month's Paper Pumpkin.  This kit made sweet popsicle, watermelon and rainbow shaped cards (previous post).  Here I have made three different cards using contents from the kit together with items from my own stash.

The first card was created by stencilling in clouds with white craft ink.

The second card is so bright and cheery!  Everything except the card base, circle and sequins is from the kit.  The diagonal striped background is the inside of one of the envelopes.

And lastly, the gingham on the watermelon card is from the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper pack.  I dug out a retired set called Fruit
Basket for the strawberries and sentiment and the lattice die is from the Petals & More Thinlits.

Now to think up more idea!

Here's the theme for May's kit...

February's Paper Pumpkin - Bouquet of Hope
This is a quick alternative made with the addition of the Rectangle Dies, Itty Bitty Greetings and 3 pearls from a previous kit.

Jolly Gingerbread - Nov. 2020 Paper Pumpkin - Stampin' Up! 2020

These cards are made from contents of the Nov. 2020 Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin kit.  They are alternatives, which means I didn't follow the instructions, but instead made something different.  This card design came from a handout that came in the Paper Pumpkin box showing a couple of ideas made into cards from the kit.   I did change some of the design to suit products I already had on hand.

I love the non traditional colour of this card; ie: the Blushing Bride card stock.  Things that were not included in the kit are:

Blushing Bride Card Stock
White Ribbon from Flowers for Every Season Comb Pack
Linen Thread
Rhinestones Basic Jewels that I coloured with Blends
Winter Snow Embossing Folder and
Whisper White Card Stock

Joy to the World - Paper Pumpkin - Stampin' Up! 2020

Here's a quick and easy alternate card made with this month's Paper Pumpkin entitled Joy to the World.  Normally these kits are available only in North America; but this one is a global kit and will be available to other markets.

The kit comes with foil sentiments in English, French and German.  The sentiment in the above card is "love" in German.  I have already given this card away!  I love the Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and gold foil together.

The only things that are not from the kit are the embellishment in the centre of the flower (retired) and the rhinestones (which were coloured with Blends)

The kit came with 8 lined envelopes to co-ordinate with the images.  I enjoy the non-standard 4" X 6" (approx.) cards this kit provided.

It is a fun kit filled with tons of possibilities!

Paper Pumpkin - September 2020 Hello Pumpkin' - Stampon' Up! 2020

Another quick card with September's Hello Pumpkin.

A Mossy Meadow card base with a Whisper White layer was used to highlight the three Cajun Craze lattice panels that were joined together as a backing.  I cut the sentiment apart to help the Give Thanks fit nicely onto the pumpkin.  Love the pumpkins!

So that's my quick, clean and crisp card for today.

Hello Pumpkin Sept, 2020 - Paper Pumpkin - Stampin' Up!

This is the very first Hallowe'en card I have made!  The card is made with the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin called Hello Pumpkin.  It may take me forever to finish off this kit...there are that many elements in the kit!

The kit is geared to make treat packages, but I started off by making cards.  The black card base, white card stock and the spider were not included in the kit.  The Spider Trinket is a retired product; I just cut off the end.

This really was fun!  If you would like to learn more about Paper Pumpkin, please let m know.  You can visit

Sentimental Rose - Paper Pumpkin April, 2019 - Stampin' Up!

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly paper crafting subscription that I have been getting since it started.  I have many that have not been completed.  This one called Sentimental Rose is from April, 2019.  It is such a pretty kit that made 9 - 5" x 3.5" note cards with a cute card holder.  I made each note card up as instructed and then quickly turned the rest into full size 5.5" x 4.25" cards just by placing the completed front onto a regular size card stock of a co-ordinating colour from my own supply.

The Gift of Fall - August 2019 Paper Pumpkin - Stampin' Up!

I am a little late for Canadian Thanksgiving, but it is never too late to be thankful!  August's Paper Pumpkin - The Gift of Fall made six awesome fall gift bags with two tag designs.

This kit included enough for the six bags with tags with tons of product to create more than just the bags.  There was an add-on you could purchase to make cards; I chose to just use card stock I had already.

Here's an example of a card I made with the kit contents and card stock.  I based my card on one by a talented demo, Julie Davison.  An older Paper Pumpkin stamp was used for the sentiment.  The kit provided crumb cake leaves that I turned over and sponged on the reverse white side with some Merry Merlot and a sponge dauber.

A gift bag and card, ready to go!

After making up the bags and card there is still plenty left over to make projects in the future.  There really was a lot of bang for your buck in this kit!

The Hallowe'en kit is next and then I'll move on to some current catalogue product.  So little time....

On My Mind - July 2019 Paper Pumpkin - Stampin' Up!

I have been on a bit of a kick the past week finishing up some Paper Pumpkin boxes.  I love doing them!  The July 2019 Paper Pumpkin was titled On My Mind and made 9 lovely regular sized A2 cards.

One of the features of this kit was that it co-ordinates with suites from the annual catalogue.  This sailboat card co-ordinates with the Come Sail Away Suite.  For those that like to change things up a bit, this pairing of annual catalogue products makes your possibilities endless.

The co-ordinating suite for this card was the Woven Thread Suite.  I love the colour combo on this card.
I stamped poorly on all three of the sentiment labels provided for this card!  So I used the Stitched Nested Dies to create new ones.  I was much more successful when I used the Stamparatus and sponged the ink onto the stamp with a sponge dauber.

The third and final design goes with the Garden Lane Suite.    I also appreciate the lovely lined envelopes that make your card that much more special!

Next mont's kit will be tags that co-ordinate with the Winter Woods kit from this month.

Hugs from Shelli - May 2019 Paper Pumpkin

I have many, many Paper Pumpkin kits to complete.  I love getting them each month and then I just don't make it a priority to get them finished.  So here I am, with May's kit called Hugs from Shelli.  It makes 12 beautiful note sized cards complete with co-ordinating envelopes (not shown).

However, it became known that the envelopes were a "titch" too small for the notecards and they would not easily go into the envelopes.  Knowing this, I trimmed slivers from each card so I would not have this problem.  As it happens, I missed a few, so ended up cutting them and mounting them to regular A2 card bases for a simple fix.  I call these "happy mistakes" because it usually makes for a nice alternative.

This notecard made it onto a Crumb Cake card base.

Here I layered it onto a Blushing Bride card base and added a strip of Mossy Meadow to the left side of the card.

'I choseVery Vanilla card stock and centred the card front onto a piece of Mossy Meadow.  I love the bird trinkets they provided for this card.

The notecards below are done as per kit instructions.

So, that's another kit completed!  If you'd like to learn more about Stampin' Up!'s card making and project subscription, please let me know!  I'd be happy to fill you in on the deets!

You can see past kits/videos at

Each month is a surprise but they do give little hints each month.  November's will be tags that will co-ordinate with October's kit.

Winter Woods - Oct. 2019 Paper Pumpkin - Stampin' Up!

This month's Paper Pumpkin' entitled Winter Woods arrived on Thursday and I had all 10 cards finished on Friday afternoon.  This rarely happens!  Such a pretty set of cards.
The card base is pre-printed.  You just stamp the snowflakes and greeting.  The die-cut birch trees have a lovely soft shimmery look.  A pop of colour is added with the die-cut cardinals and the snowflake sequins finish off this serene winter scene.

The inside greeting, cardinal and snowflake all came from the stamp set included with this kit.  I think it adds a nice festive touch to the inside of the card.

Here they are...all completed!

Grown With Kindness - Paper Pumpkin Feb. 2019

February's Paper Pumpkin creates 9 cards; 3 of each design.  Using photo based images as a background has become quite popular.  We have had Christmas designer series paper with photo images; there were balloons and cupcakes on another set of designer series paper. and more.  They all made for wonderful cards!

The stamp set in February's Paper Pumpkin has some great sentiments and accent images, like the one underneath the sentiment banner.

So those are the three lovely designs as created by the Paper Pumpkin team.  I am going to wait and see what other great designs people come up with...or then again, in the end I might just do them all up as is!

Paper Pumpkin's 6th birthday is being celebrated next month with an additional FREE stamp set.  It will come in your March box.  This stamp wet will co-ordinate with the kit designs, but are not necessary to complete the kit.   Sign up soon before they are all sold out.  However, deadline is March 10 if they don't sell out before that.

To You & Yours - December 2018 Paper Pumpkin

This month's Paper Pumpkin, To You & Yours is loaded with fun elements!  I did not end up making the original design that came with the kit.  They were both absolutely lovely cards but I ended up changing them for an order I had received.  So I made 12 cards with the help of other Stampin' Up! products, and mailed them off, so there are no photos.

Today's card used the inside of one of the envelopes for the background on my card.  I love the co-ordinated look of the card and envelope.

I also made 9 tags!
