Glitter Puzzle/Burnished Velvet

This quilt pattern is called Perpetual Motion.  I love the colors in this one.  They are taken from the glitter  set  Fine Supernova.  I used Olive, Chocolate and Orange.  There are five .25 oz. pots of fine glitter for $17.95 (Cdn).

Card stock is Early Espresso and Old Olive

Accessories:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Neutrals glitter brad and Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

This is a 5 1/4" square card and fits the 5 1/2" envelopes.

Happy Birthday Sheila!!

This is a fun glittery card I made for a friend's birthday.  I really like this technique.

Another go at burnished velvet (aka glitter puzzle)  This is so sparkly.   I just got my order of Stampin' Up! super fine glitter.  I should have made a swatch of each color before I started, because it's very hard to decide what colors to put together.  They are not exact matches to Stampin' Up's colors, so I found it challenging.  When I first put the colors together, I was a little unsure.  But once I introduced the card stock, it came together quite nicely.

I used the Fine Cosmos glitter set; Rose Pink, Celery and Turquoise.

Card stock is Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White.

Quilt pattern was taken off the Internet from a free pattern site and is called Pieced Star.

They are a lot of fun to make; takes a little prep time and clean up after each color so you don't contaminate your glitter pots!

Glitter Puzzle

I attended a Glitter Puzzle workshop at the beginning of January presented by Caroline Spicer, a local and very talented scrapbooker!!

So, I finally got to play on my own and this is my first attempt.  My Stampin' Up! glitter is on order and I can't wait to try out the colors.  The ones used here are Martha Stewart and they are more on the pastel side.  In real life this is wonderfully sparkly.  This is a very messy technique - glitter everywhere!!
