Brusho - Flourish Thinlits - Stampin' Up! 2018

I LOVE Brusho!  It's fun, easy and makes gorgeous backgrounds.  I used Shimmery White Card Stock as the base for this technique.  It takes the excess water well, but I do tape it down with masking tape to prevent warping and then trim it to size.  Prussian Blue and Yellow were the two colours I sprinkled on the paper before misting with one of our Spritzers.

I die cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Card Stock with the Flourish Thinlits.  After gluing down, I applied a layer of Wink of Stella.  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy.  To complete the card I made a bow out of the Night of Navy Baker's Twine (retired) and adhered with a glue dot.

That's all there was to it!

Only one more day before the new holiday catalogue goes live!  You will be able to find it all here at

Scrapbook Page Challenge - Stampin' Up!

I often hear customers and fellow paper crafters say they need to start using their stamps and dies more often in their scrapbooking!

So, I recently held a card class at our local scrapping event using the Best Birds and Petal Palette bundles.  As part of the class I issued a challenge (optional) for the attendees to create a scrapbook page using these sets.  I also offered a couple of others die sets to the mix.

Fellow card maker, scrapbooker, artist, friend, customer, Brenda.....took on this challenge and created all four of these amazing pages in no time at all.  I love how she turned the bird in the upper right corner into a chickadee!

My photographs do not do these pages justice.  These pages with the mainly white with a touch of black are very striking in real life. A black and white photograph will look awesome on these pages.

This all white page would also look gorgeous with a black and white photo.  But I think the perfect colour photo would really pop too!

So, Brenda; well done!  It is a good lesson in trying to remember to use your stamps and dies regularly when you scrap.

Most of Brenda's products were Stampin' Up!
Here are a few of the products she used..

Best Birds stamp set and Birds & Blooms Thinlit Dies
Petal Palette stamp set and Petals & More Dies
Flourish Thinlits
Daisy Punch
Pearlized Doilies
Blossom Punch - retired
Pansy Punch - retired

Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper - Stampin' Up!

Today's card is a note card featuring Nature's Poem Designer Series  Paper.  You can see a bit of the other designs in the Nature's Poem collection in this first picture.  The card base is the rich Tranquil Tide from the 2017 - 2019 In Color collection.  The retired background stamp called Sanded was used to add some texture to the card base.  You can see a little snipet of the new Pearlized Doilies at the bottom of the focal piece.    Lastly, my little trinket was made from the Silver Foil Sheets using the small leaf thinlit from Flourish Thinlits Dies.

The Sanded background shows up nicely in this photo as well as the doily and the silver leaf.

I made multiples for a card swap club I am a part of.

Inspiration comes from many avenues.  Today's card layout/colour was based on a card by a talented demo, Brian King.
