I love the new Doily Die. You do however have to have a little patience to poke out all the pieces! It's also very important to make your "sandwich" nice and tight, especially when using card stock. You will need a card stock shim to help with this.
The embossing folder wax paper resist technique is fun to do. The types of background papers you can make is endless. Vintage Wallpaper was used here. I also used shimmery white card stock. It gives an elegant shimmer when light is reflected.
My card is topped off with a very vanilla seam binding ribbon bow and dazzling details in the middle of the Elements of Style flowers.
The original design for this card was by Chris Smith, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I really enjoy her work. I changed the stamp sets, paper colors, ribbon and added the background technique in order to try something new.
So, hope your New Year is off to a good start and you are creating whenever possible! Happy stamping!
Cindy
