It took a long time for this card to be born!! A week in fact. It is a dreary, dark and rainy day today, so the photo doesn't show the papers and colors as well as it should. I used the new Baby Tees jumbo wheel, with the sentiment from Picture This (hostess set-retired). My coloring skills are not great, which is why I chose a white onesie with pink accents! This is a 6 1/4 X 3 1/4 card made to fit the small open ended Stampin' Up! envelopes.

A blog created to help me commit to creating and accomplishing. Why Turtle Creations? Because I can be as slow as one when it comes to finishing my projects! You may also encounter the occasional post about some very special blessings! Or the occasional quilt project. For Father Mojo 143
Here's the Dad/Grandpa that recieved the card. Featured are two of his (our) five grandchildren. Andie (17mos) and Sullivan 3.
Here's the bad puppy featured on this post's card. Gage gives us a run for our money, but we still love her!
When this stamp set For Father came out I just had to have it!! It's well retired now and this is the first completed image from the set! Our 11 month old dog Gage is a yellow lab and mostly white. Although she would be more likely to be seen chewing the boot as apposed to resting her head on it, it made the perfect image for a Father's Day card. Good job coloring the image Stephanie!! The paper is Stampin' Up! Autumn Meadows.

Happy Birthday Janet!
Hope you have a wonderful birthday Janet!!
This is the card I made for a friend. It's her birthday today and I'm hoping this card got to her before she takes a peek at the blog! I saw this image on a blog a long time ago and had finally decided to go ahead a buy it. It's from a stamp design company called Skipping Stones and the stamp set is Hawaiian Birthday. I was wishing I also had the Stampin' Up! set with the coconut for this one. The flower is made from a tutorial from Julie Buhler's blog. I love making these.
The best part of this card is the inside.
Don't you love it?!
The layout for the front of this card was inspired by Mojo Monday Week 142 sketch. I have a link on the sidebar where you can see all the other cards people made with this sketch. The sketch itself is below. I just turned it on its side.

SEW Much Fun!
It's a lot of fun to sew on cards. Adding just a little as a border can draw special attention to your card.
It's a little harder to notice in this one with the french knots. I went around twice in a wavy pattern, crossing over at different spots. Yes, french knots takes a bit of time, but very relaxing to do. I did these ones while watching (sort of watching) TV.
I used the large scallop Big Shot die as a border for this block. Just a little sewing around two edges, with brads to "tie" the block together.
The flower was made with the five petal punch. I quilted the whole block which give it a nice look, but can be a little time consuming pulling the threads to the back just like on a fabric quilt!
SEW, IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED SEWING ON CARDS, GIVE IT A TRY!
