Patterned Occasions - Getting Started

This is a stepped up version (see basic card below) of a card I created to incorporate the Getting Started products on page 151 of the 2013 catalogue.   I used the Festive Paper Piercing Pack  (carry over found on page 36 of spring catalogue) and framelits (Labels Collection on page 191 of main catalogue) for the image piece.

This is a very popular sketch from Splitcoaststampers and is great for creating a quick and easy card.

The BASIC card made with the products from the Getting Started options.  No extra supplies needed except a paper cutter and adhesives.  You can use rhinestones or brads on your project.

Another version using the Big Shot and the Chevron embossing folder.

You don't need a lot of supplies to get started, especially if you purchase these supplies during Sale-a-bration...going on until Mar. 22!

Floral District Circles

A quick post for a quick card!  This is a class card I did back in the fall I beleive.

 Circle and scallop punches are the main accessories used to make this card.  I also used Betsy's blossoms to make one of the flowers.  Otherwise the Floral District DSP does all the work!  So easy don't you think?!

Spice Cake Fabric and Dress Up Framelits

I LOVE this new framelits set Dress Up.  This is one of the four cards I did with fabric.

My card uses the colours from the fabric; Pool Party, Soft Suede and More Mustard.  The dress frames were part of a series of products related to the dress.  You can find them all on page 170 of the 2013 Spring Catalogue.

My background was made with En Francais; a very well loved stamp set.  The Ovals Collection framelits are also new (page 4)  The buttons are from the lovely Artisan Embellishments Kit that has tags, ticket stubs, lace, paper flowers, buttons, doilies.....There are 26 embellishments in all.  Page 10. 

The waistband was made with the ribbon you can get from Sale-a-bration that starts Tuesday the 22nd. Spend $60 and get it FREE.  There are 3 ribbon spools and 26 buttons.  The little scallop flower was made with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a More Mustard brad from the 3/16" Regals Brads.

The sentiment I used is also a Sale-a-bration item!! It's on the flyer below.  Isn't it a great stamp set!  You can get it FREE!

Floral District Ribbon!

This is #2 of 4 cards made with fabric.  Tear a strip of co-ordinating fabric and adhere to card...how simple is that?!  I love the little fringe created from the fraying.  Once again I used the Floral District Fabric and the Floral District Designer Series Paper.  The new Designer Builder Brads are gorgeous and you get 16 in a package for just $9.95.  You can find them on page 12 of the 2013 spring catalogue.

The sentiment "There's Only One You" is from Vintage Verses; a Sale-a-bration set that is available for  FREE with a $60 purchase staring January 22!!

Floral District Fabric meets DSP!

I'm loving the possibilities there are to use fabric on your cards!!  It adds great visual interest and is so easy to use.  My card uses the Floral District Fabric found on page 171 of the main catalogue.  I used the Beautiful Butterflies die together with the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (page 160).  It makes adhering and working with fabric fun and easy!

Choose a sentiment of your liking and you have a quick card completed in minutes!  I use the Fabulous Phrases set.

Here are the measurements to make it even quicker!!

Card Base Pool Party:  8 1/2" X 11" scored at 4 1/4"

DSP Floral District:  5" X 3 3/4"

Mat Tangerine Tango:  3 1/2" X 2 1/2"

White Card Stock:  3 1/4" X 2 1/4"

For the inside I used a 5" X 3 3/4" piece of Tangerine Tango and a

4 3/4" X 3 1/2" piece of Whisper White.

Candlelight Christmas Gift Bags

I always love to see regular plain brown paper gift bags dressed up with a little TLC!

Andrea Walford provided an easy tutorial on making these using the Snow Flurry Bigz die, Merry and Type stamp set and the very beautiful Candlelight Chrismtas DSP.  I purchased my bags from Walmart and adjusted the measurements to suit the bags.  Andrea's original one was in the green; I then tried making one using the red sheet of DSP from the same package of Candlelight Christmas DSP.  I also used a sentiment from Elements of Style for the centre of the large snowflake.   They really are quick and easy to make up!

Just fill them with a gift of your choosing and you have a super way to give a gift "Stampin' Up!" style!

Have fun creating fun packaging for your Chrismtas gifts!

Ornament Keepsakes - CASEs

It's easy to see the first photo is a replica of the one on the front of the 2012 Holiday Catalogue.   I used some retired silver chord instead of the linen thread and this sample used a different DSP for the rosette.  Otherwise, I think it's the same.

I did this lovely ornament as a class and to show the versatility of the stamp set and dies, I made several cards to show as samples.

The rest of these photos are cards I made using the designs of other Stampin' Up! demonstrators. Thanks to the creator of each card.  I went to the Demonstrator resource Stampin' Connection for some inspiration!

I love the colours for this card.  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.  I was happy to get to use my music notes wheel which does not seem to get much love for some reason!  I found this card on Splitcoast Stampers; the poster didn't give the name of the person who designed it - she sure did a great job!

 I made a bunch of these and included them in a workshop order as my "thank you".   I think it's gorgeous!  CASE'd from Anne Laflamme.

When I saw the card I used to CASE I was so happy because I would get to use some of the retired vanilla velvety ribbon!  I really should make a bunch more so that I use it again!  I changed the ornaments so I could use the ones from Ornament Keepsakes but the ones the original designer used (Tree Trimmings - now retired) were perfect!   CASE'd from Patty Gorka.

This was actually the first card I made with this stamp set.   Cards similar to this one have become quite popular.  I can see why!  Love the new Holiday Frame Embossing Folder!  I gave one of these cards to each person who took the ornament class. CASE'd from Lee Ann Barrett.

I probably changed more on this one than the others.  I stamped the holly branch from Watercolor Winter in StazOn black and coloured them with blender pens.  The ornament was stamped and cut out with the matching die. The sentiment was from Joyous Celebrations.  The Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder is becoming a new favourite!  I used some retired 1/4" old olive grosgrain ribbon to adorn the ornament.  CASE'd from Rachel Woollard.

Word Play - Tidings of Comfort & Joy

As a trial Stampin' Up! is selling individual stamps from a selected number of stamp sets.  The set Word Play has 12 awesome stamps for various occasions.  This Christmas one can be purchased for $6.25 (#132303) until January 2, 2013.  These were my "thank you" cards to put in with my club orders this month.

I used the Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder on my image.  I love the look that a little heat embossing gives.  The white doily is the reverse side of paper from the doily sheet in the now retired Flirtatious Speciality DSP.    I ran my Gumball Green panel through the Big Shot with the gorgeous Lacey Brocade embossing folder found in the 2012 Holiday Catalolgue.

I used a sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday for my card.  I changed it up just a little.

No Peeking - Paper Piecing

No Peeking is a fun little set found in the 2012/2013 Stampin' Up! catalogue.  The paper is from Snow Festival.  I love the Tiny Tags set; such an easy way to add a sentiment.

I was designing a card for the 2012 Hamilton Regionals in Aug. and this was my first sample.  I had to change it up a bit for the actual swap because I didn't have enough of the little pearls to make 25 cards!

Make a Mitten

Make a Mitten found in the 2012/13 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue is just too cute!  The mitten builder punch makes cutting them out a snap.

Change up the colours and you have a great winter birthday card.  The new Gumball Green In Color is perfect with the Cherry Cobbler DSP from Snow Festival.  I used the small banner in Itty Bitty Banners and just cut it out freehand.  The little star in the centre of the snowflake is from Chock Full of Cheer.  This was a fun class card.  I just discovered when doing up this post that the snowflake die is no longer available....oops!

A set of these mittens done up in a colour from a winter photo would look great on a scrapbook page.
